Two shops, two sets of numbers
Multi store POS software solves the problem that starts the day a shop owner opens a second branch. Each branch has its own billing, its own stock and its own cash. Stock is carried from one branch to the other in an auto, nobody writes it down, and by the end of the month neither branch’s stock matches. The owner gets sales figures by phone call at night, if at all.
Two separate billing accounts make this worse: two sets of items to keep updated, two price lists that drift apart, and no single view of what the business made.
What Cartix Prime does for branches
On the Platinum plan, one Cartix Prime account runs more than one branch:
- Stock transfers between branches, so stock leaving one shop is recorded and arrives as stock in the other.
- Branch requests, so a branch can ask for stock instead of calling the owner.
- A head office view that compares branches.
- The Stock transfers report and Stock by location, to see what moved and where it is now.
Each branch bills as it always did, on Windows, Android or a browser. Billing keeps working when the internet goes, and the bills reach the cloud and the head office view when the connection is back.
Platinum also includes everything in Gold: purchase orders and goods received notes, batches and expiry, accounts with export to Tally, offers and loyalty, approvals sent to the owner’s phone, and staff attendance and payroll. Offers can be set by branch, so a promotion can run in one shop and not the other. Platinum allows any number of staff.
How a stock transfer works
- The branch that is short makes a branch request for the items it needs.
- The sending branch makes a stock transfer for what it can spare.
- The goods go across, and the transfer moves the stock from one branch’s figures to the other’s.
- Both branches see the change in their stock, and the head office sees it too.
- At month end, the Stock transfers report lists every movement, so the owner can match it with what each branch says.
The point is that every carton that moves leaves a record. When a branch says it never got something, the report shows when it was sent.
The owner’s view
The head office view compares branches side by side. The owner can check it from home, or from another town, on the same account used at the counters. The usual sales reports, such as the Sales summary, Profit, Item-wise sales and Busy hours, are there too, and the activity log shows who did what.
An example
Take a family running three supermarkets around Palakkad. The main shop buys in bulk and used to send stock to the other two on paper slips, and the slips went missing. With branches in one account, each branch requests what it needs, the main shop sends it as a stock transfer, and the head office view shows which branch is growing and which is stuck.
Before you add a second branch
- Clean the item list first. One name, one code and one barcode per item makes transfers and comparisons honest.
- Do a stock count in each shop on the day you start, so every branch begins with true figures.
- Decide who may transfer stock, and give each staff member only the permissions they need.
Who it suits
- supermarket and kirana chains with two or more outlets
- owners with two shops in the same town that share stock
- medical store chains that move stock between branches
- bakeries with more than one outlet
A single shop with two counters does not need branches. Extra counters are extra devices on the same shop: an extra computer from ₹1,499 a year and an extra phone from ₹399 a year.

Questions people ask
Can one billing software run more than one shop?
Yes. On the Platinum plan, Cartix Prime runs more than one branch from one account, with stock transfers between branches, branch requests and a head office view that compares branches.
How do I transfer stock between two branches?
In Cartix Prime Platinum, the sending branch makes a stock transfer, and the stock moves from its books to the receiving branch. Branches can also send requests for stock. The Stock transfers report lists every movement.
Can I see all my branches’ sales from home?
Yes. The head office view in Cartix Prime Platinum compares branches, and you can open it on any device signed in to your account. Bills made offline at a branch appear once that counter is back online.
Do I need Platinum for two counters in one shop?
No. Two counters in the same shop are extra devices, not branches. Add an extra computer from ₹1,499 a year or an extra phone from ₹399 a year on any plan. Platinum is for separate branches.
Does Cartix Prime Offline support branches?
No. Branches, stock transfers between them and the head office view need the cloud, so they are only in the online Cartix Prime on the Platinum plan.
